Quotes from the industry
H.E. Wilfred Mohr, Ambassador of the Netherlands in Mexico, said during his visit: “The Dutch agricultural sector is very large in Mexico, so we are very pleased to be here, supporting the Mexican countryside to enter its production and improve the quality of products and services. We are very excited to have the presence of 70 Dutch companies and to cooperate jointly with the organizers RAI Amsterdam and Tarsus Mexico. We hope to work together for many more years and we look forward to seeing you at the next edition.””We are participating in GreenTech Americas because we have seen an upcoming demand for safe food, water reduction, less energy, higher quality and more production per square meter, so we believe we can contribute with our already proven concept to the Mexican market; we need to explore new opportunities, meet new people, Mexican growers and new companies in the region,” explained Eric Douw, Sales and Business Development Manager for North and Central America at KUBO Green Houses.

Innovations
With the purpose of giving an additional boost to the sector and helping producers with high-tech trends, the Start-up challenge was launched again at GreenTech Americas 2022. The two winners Blue Radix and PATS Indoor Drone Solutions presented their innovative and sustainable solutions. “For us, participating in GreenTech Americas is a very positive experience as we want to expand in Mexico because we see many more opportunities here, there are good greenhouses, people who want to move forward and be more prepared for the future. We believe that with algorithms and artificial intelligence we can contribute to development in the region. Without a doubt this is the perfect platform to tell our story,” explained Ronald Hoek, CEO of Blue Radix. “Being at GreenTech Americas as one of the winners of the start-up challenge aimed at protected agriculture is a great opportunity to network, validate and learn more about our market, in addition to being in contact with the people who suffer the effects in areas that are not insect-free and help them protect them through drones,” commented Bram Tijmons, CEO of PATS Indoor Drone Solutions.

A word from the organization
Mariska Dreschler, Director of Horticulture, GreenTech Global, RAI Amsterdam, stated: “What a wonderful experience to organize for the second time GreenTech Americas. The agriculture industry and therefore the horticulture industry is still increasing worldwide. But also regional we see a lot of developments. This is reflected in the huge success of this edition. The amount and quality of the exhibitors and visitors exceeded our expectations. At the show floor it was great to see that many companies already have taken the next steps towards sustainable horticulture.” According to José Navarro, General Director of Tarsus Mexico, GreenTech Americas once again exceeded the expectations of visitors and exhibitors who had the opportunity to establish productive face-to-face business and find solutions in terms of automation, resource savings, crop innovation and sustainability in order to detonate the high productivity of farmers. “GreenTech Americas was a watershed in terms of the technology offerings presented by national and international companies. Mexico has great potential to become the number one food supplier for the United States and Canada. This meeting allows us to analyze the areas of opportunity for our country to advance in the world ranking of protected agriculture and position itself among the top three.”
