Van Rij: ‘We are pleased that Guido Janssen has decided to join our company. Over the past 25 years, Guido has been active in various strategic and international roles at a commercial as well as senior management level within multinationals and family businesses, but also has experience with start-ups and scale-ups. Given his personality, experience and drive, we are convinced that we have found the right leader for SmartCoat’s current phase of development and that we will be able to realize the company goals we have set during the recent strategic review.

Janssen: ‘Turnover and market-shares in both sectors – greenhouse cultivation and the sports world – are steadily growing. I look forward to the challenge to further facilitate this growth and to advance the SmartCoat Group to the next phase. It requires also positioning of our current brands, the expansion of internationalization and the market introduction of possible new brands. Our ambition is far-reaching and we will realize this ambition together with our partners and supply chain partners. It is a fantastic sector  with incremental growth opportunities due to growing global population, impact of climate changes and in the end has a dynamic effect on more global greenhouses.’

Jan van Rij
